B200 is a nonwoven needled mat made from a new generation of high performance patented silica fibers. It provides excellent thermal and acoustical insulation properties up to 2000ºF. The distinguishing characteristics of B200 blanket which set it apart from other silica products is it's cotton-like soft touch and conformability to irregular shapes. B200 is also non dusting and non irritating, and it's 9 micron fiber diameter is non-respirable making handling safe and easy.
Microporous insulation is silica based material in the form of compacted powder or fibers with an average interconnecting pore size comparable to or below the mean free path of air molecules at standard atmospheric pressure. Microporous insulation may contain opacifiers to reduce the amount of radiant heat transmitted. This composition results in a material with exceptionally low thermal conductivity (lower than dormant air). Each board is individually encapsulated in polyethylene foil to make it resistant to moisture. It is also available in a flexible form with or without cloth encapsulation.
