Foundry Service offers Insulating Fire Bricks (IFB) for use in applications from 2,000°F (1,093°C) to 3,200°F (1,760°C) and Dense (Hard) refractory bricks (low, medium, high, and super duty) for use up to 3200°F. Each type is formulated to meet specific thermal and physical requirements. Specially-formulated mortars (both wet and dry) and patching plasters are available for use with all grades of dense and insulating fire bricks.

Foundry Service offers Ceramic Fiber board, blanket, paper, felt, and custom vacuum formed shapes made from the highest purity raw materials available. Ceramic Fiber is an aluminosilicate based refractory fiber that is white and odorless. It resists temperatures as high as 3200º F and extremely light weight with very low thermal conductivity. It provides excellent hot face insulation at high temperatures with excellent thermal shock resistance, even when exposed to direct flame. It also resists corrosive chemicals such as commonly used acids and alkalis. Ceramic fiber products are excellent substitutes for asbestos products in many insulation and sealing applications.
Ultratemp boards are inorganic, incombustible Calcium Silicate structural insulation boards. They feature a xonalite structure that results in exceptional strength and extremely low water of hydration. The materials are composed primarily of lime, silica, and reinforcing fibers. The product is white, essentially dust-free, and contains no asbestos. Ultratemp is available in thicknesses from 1/2" to 3" in 48" x 96" sheets, or cut-to-size as needed. Marinite structural insulations are monolithic, incombustible and non-asbestos, and are available in several compositions and densities. Composed of Tobermorite calcium silicate, Marinite is available in thicknesses ranging from 1/4" to 3" and are easily fabricated from 48” x 96” sheets. The diverse selection of boards are produced by chemically reacting formulations of silica, lime, and reinforcing fibers followed by hydraulic pressure and various forms of curing and heat treating. In addition, Millboard has set the standard for roller cladding material, designed to meet the most stringent requirements of glass and steel producers worldwide. Properties include excellent thermal stability and high temperature mechanical strength, good heat ageing properties, good insulating properties, resistance to molten metals, excellent electrical resistance, wide range of grades to match specific applications, and being a fairly clean product; die-cuts and punches excellently.
RS-100 is a ceramic fiber reinforced structural alumina composite material with useful properties to 1260ºC (2300ºF). It has exceptional flexural and compressive strengths in the range of high temperature reinforced plastics such as G-7 and G-10 laminates and retains strength and utility to levels far exceeding maximum use temperatures of plastics. Mechanical properties of Type RS-100 sheet far exceed those of Transite™ and other asbestos-cement materials and is an excellent replacement for these rigid asbestos-containing products. Refractory Sheet Press Board (RSPB) is a silica matrix composite produced from low thermal expansion raw materials consisting of 99.7% silica. These rigid high strength fiber reinforced structural ceramic composites have a thermal expansion coefficient of .3 x 10-6/ºC which provides remarkable resistance to thermal shock up to 1200ºC (2192ºF). Beyond 1200ºC (2192ºF) it begins to transform into a crystalline structure, but maintains it’s properties up to 1650ºC (3002ºF) providing that there is no significant drop in temperature.
