Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP)

FRP composites are fiberglass-reinforced thermoset polyester materials that are laminated, pultruded, or molded in to a variety of different shapes and compositions. Typical forms include rigid and flexible sheets, tubes, rods, channels, angles, and custom molded shapes such as stand-off insulators. We offer grades that meet the requirements of NEMA grades GPO-1, GPO-2, and GPO-3, as well as being recognized by Underwriters Laboratories®. FRP composites are highly flame, arc, and track-resistant, and are electrically non-conductive. The materials also exhibit exceptional dimensional stability and are impervious to high humidity or immersion.

Glastic® Corrosion-Resistant Panels are ideal for applications where resistance to both flame, and the splash or spill of laboratory chemicals is important.
These asbestos-free, fiberglass reinforced polyester resin sheets offer a particularly low smoke generation when exposed to flame. Grade 1125 is Underwriters laboratories, Inc.® classified with a flame-spread rating of 25.

This material has very low water absorption characteristics, along with excellent splash and spill resistance to acids, weak bases and aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Panels can be manufactured in sizes of 3 x 6 feet and 4 x 8 feet. Sheet thickness ranges from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch. Call us for current availability.

Hi-Pot Tested to Assure Electrical Reliability
Glastic Standoff Insulators are molded of Underwriters laboratories Incorporated (UL) Recognized flame resistant fiberglass-reinforced thermoset polyester molding compound. Glastic Insulators 1603, 2015, 1461, 1872, 4610 and 4640 are UL Recognized according to UL Standard for Safety 891.

They feature shatter resistance and closer height tolerances than commonly available in porcelain insulators. Moisture and heat-resistance properties of Glastic Insulators are higher than those of conventional plastic insulators.

Grade TSF 1312 General-Purpose Laminate is the most cost-effective fiberglass-reinforced laminate sheet available from Glastic®. It is also a NEMA GPO-1 Laminate and UL Recognized.

Glastic Grade TSF 1312 is a UL Recognized material with a temperature index of 130ºC Electrical and 130ºC Mechanical. It is available in the brown, and in thicknesses of 1/32 of an inch through 1-1/4 inches.

Grade TSF 1312 exhibits outstanding punchability in thin thicknesses. It is widely used in motors and dry-type transformers, as well as a variety of other applications.

SG-200 and FHT are the highest temperature FRP composite materials. They offer similar properties as the lower temperature materials, and SG-200 has excellent machinability. SG-200 is the rigid version, and FHT is the flexible version.
