Foundry Service & Supplies offers a complete line of high temperature insulating castables (monolithics) rated for use in applications ranging from 2000ºF to 3300ºF. Their light weight and low thermal conductivity reduce both the amount of heat storage and heat transfer producing significant savings in furnace fuel consumption. Lower densities reduce the amount of supporting furnace steelwork required and provide more insulation with a thinner lining. Foundry Service can pre-cast and fire parts and shapes per customer supplied drawings as well.
Foundry Service sells only high quality, pure, high density castables (monolithic)suitable for high temperature structural applications. These dense castables are available in various grades suitable for a specific range of operational conditions. Our refractory castables are hydraulic setting and can be casted or molded to any shape. All of these castables can also be modified for gunning applications. Foundry Service can pre-cast and fire parts and shapes per customer supplied drawings as well.
Plastic refractories are supplied in an unfired and formable condition. They are installed by hand or with the use of a pneumatic hammer to form the refractory mass. These products are used both for original installations and for patching. Plastic refractories can be used in many varied applications and locations because they are essentially formed by the installer to fit the specific use area. Refractory plastics can be used to patch or repair worn refractory areas whether they were originally brick castable or plastic. For the best results, the worn refractory should be removed back to a sound surface, removing loose material and preferably providing V-shape surfaces that will allow good bonding of the patch to the original refractory.
