Foundry Service offers Ceramic Fiber board, blanket, paper, felt, and custom vacuum formed shapes made from the highest purity raw materials available. Ceramic Fiber is an aluminosilicate based refractory fiber that is white and odorless. It resists temperatures as high as 3200º F and extremely light weight with very low thermal conductivity. It provides excellent hot face insulation at high temperatures with excellent thermal shock resistance, even when exposed to direct flame. It also resists corrosive chemicals such as commonly used acids and alkalis. Ceramic fiber products are excellent substitutes for asbestos products in many insulation and sealing applications.
Maxfire Ceramic Blanket Products are comprised of high-strength ceramic fibers spun from alumina-silica, mechanically needled and cross-locked through a unique forming process, to produce a resilient blanket with unexcelled handling strength and surface integrity. All Ceramic Blanket Products are completely inorganic and available in a variety of densities, thickness and temperature capabilities. Maxfire Ceramic Blanket Products offer excellent thermal and acoustical performance, high temperature stability, low heat storage, thermal shock resistance and are unaffected by water or oil, with thermal and physical properties restored upon drying.
Kaowool Blanket, Cerawool® Blanket, Cerablanket®, Cerachem® Blanket and Cerachrome® Blanket are air laid into a continuous mat and mechanically needled for added strength and surface integrity. Blanket products do not contain organic binders. Thermal Ceramic Blankets provide excellent resistance to chemical attack. Exceptions include hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and strong alkalies (ie. Na2O, K2O). Thermal Ceramic Blankets arc unaffected by oil or water. Thermal and physical properties are restored after drying.

These bulk products are produced by varying composition, fiber length, compressed density, fiber content, fiber diameter, and lubricity to serve a wide range of customer needs.

The modules are manufactured from a high purity blend of raw materials which are used to produce R Grade (alumina-silica), ZR Grade (alumina-zirconia-silica). and C Grade (alumina-silica-chromia) ceramic fibers. The modules utilize a specially designed 316 stainless steel internal support system and industry standard Pyro-Bloc stud system.
